अनुवादक
प्रकाशमणि दाहाल नेपाली साहित्यका सिर्जना, समीक्षा र अनुवादका त्रैआयामिक क्षेत्रमा सक्रिय प्रतिभा हुन् । उनको परिचय साहित्यसागरका अघिल्ला शृङ्खलामा समेटिइसकेको छ । यस शृङ्खलामा उनको देवकोटाको बादल कविताको अंग्रेजी अनुवादलाई समेटिएको छ । यो कविता देवकोटाको भिखारी कवितासङ्ग्रहमा संग्रहित छ । यस अनुवादले प्रशस्तै सिर्जनात्मक अनुवाद सामथ्र्य राखेको छ ।

लक्ष्मीप्रसाद देवकोटा
We’ve been children of the vast water-body,
and were born during the summer season;
When all and everywhere was sparklingly goody
As then a great celebration was going on.
The sun giggled getting splashed in the waves,
As though he was dancing in wobbly move;
Airs were invited from far and wide
And so enthused blew with great alacrity.

We were enamored excessively too
As we wanted to amble all over the blue;
That’s so, we ascended unhurriedly.
The steps, tiny though, made tidy and neatly.
Up and up we climbed and at last
We got spread all over and
Ultimately merged ourselves into the space,
Where blew the wind holding us
Getting strolled all through the world-
the mountains, cities and the forests.

We enjoyed the divine display of the terrain
All throughout the hills and plains,
The ditches and ravines of the Himalayas,
Including bare hills and tended parks.
Meandering rivulets of sparkling water course
And those cataracts galloping through hedges;
Besides, we saw tattered and filthy huts
Along with splendid mansions and rows of gorgeous palaces.
